SI 2 Progress

Here is my original photo of my brother as Turin looking depressed. I liked the photo itself but it seemed too clean and simple to portray such a complex and horrible moment in Turin's life. In an attempt to capture these facets of the event I will tear the edges of the photograph to make it seem distressed and incomplete, and I will use watercolor to stain it to symblolize the people he has killed. My question: how can I use emphasis and motion portrait photography to illustrate the themes of "The Great Tales"?

AP Art Primary Question

 As of August 27, 2020, I have chosen as my investigation for my AP Portfolio to answer the question: How can I use portrait photography to examine the transcendental themes permeating the “Great Tales of Middle Earth”?
